eGEO Compass ProDEMO IntGeoMod Review
eGEO Compass ProDEMO IntGeoMod is a digital compass designed for geology and is available for Android devices. The app is created by Marco Foi and is free to download. It is designed for use in field surveys by geologists and engineers to measure both Dips (Dip-Azimuth and Dip-Angle) and Lineations of any surface/linear element without having to level the compass. The app also supports GPS for geo-tagging and allows for the correction of declination manually or automatically from GPS position.
One of the newest features of the app is the ability to export data to SHP (ESRI® Shapefile), which requires registration. It also includes support for overturned (younging) measures by long-press on the "Save" button. The app allows for projects tags to allow data filtering both in in-app features and in exported data. Additionally, it offers a map preview with tap-on-measure detail retrieving, CVS and KMZ export (which requires registration), CSV import, and measure averaging. However, it must be noted that the app requires registration for exporting data, and registration codes will be issued only to selected partners. Individual professional users should try this app for evaluation, and then purchase the paid version.
